Veganologie Unveils New Accessories Line Crafted from Recycled Plastic Bottles
In response to a gap in the market for sustainable, stylish, and affordable handbags, Angana Maheshwari, founder of Veganologie, has launched a new line of accessories made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. The collection includes vegan bags, wallets, and credit card cases, all designed with an emphasis on sustainability and high-quality craftsmanship.
The products feature PU leather and vegan suede interiors, crafted from recycled plastic bottles, while the hardware is made from fully recyclable zinc alloy. Even the packaging reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability, being 100% recycled.
Each Veganologie crossbody bag repurposes 11 plastic bottles, wallets are made from four, and cardholders from two. The innovative production process involves melting down the bottles and either pressing them into vegan leather or spinning them into yarn to create vegan suede.
A Fresh Approach to Sustainable Fashion
As the fashion industry shifts towards more sustainable and animal-friendly materials, many brands are exploring alternatives like cactus, apple, and pineapple leathers. However, the use of recycled plastics, as demonstrated by Veganologie, presents a viable and often underutilized option. This approach not only provides a second life for plastic waste but also challenges the perception of faux leather in the sustainability conversation.
Veganologie’s new line reflects a growing trend in the fashion industry towards innovative, eco-friendly solutions that balance style, affordability, and environmental responsibility.
